How and Why Friends with Books
So, if you’re reading this—wow, cool. But honestly, I’m not writing this for anyone else. I’m not even a writer (I’m a reader, obviously). This is just here in case someone stumbles across the site and wonders what’s going on.
I recently had to ditch social media—it was doing my f*$#ing head in. That’s just my experience, by the way. I know some people love it, but personally, it just wasn’t good for me. I still wanted a way to keep track of the books I’ve read and this little project. You know how we humans are... we have this weird urge to document parts of our lives. So, here we are. (If you’re curious about my social media rants, they’ll probably show up. All just my opinion, of course.)
Anyway, back to the books...
Sometimes the books aren’t what I expected (Jonathan Livingston Seagull, for example). They’re not always things I’d pick up on my own. But I guess that’s part of the beauty of it—through this project, I get to see the world through the eyes of my weird and wonderful tribe. Through my own lens, of course, but also through theirs. And maybe this is how I learn to understand the world—and myself.
(Soppy, I know. But honestly? That’s who I am. And I’m getting more unapologetic about it every day.)
